Started by the Illinois State Board of Education, Loyola's Science Linkages in the Community (SLIC) took the lead in developing a community computer lab at CURL. The purpose was to expand technology accessibility to community-based organizations.
A community computer lab was established. Classes were provided, including a summer computer program for Chicago youth through the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development and staffed by PRAG. Various community-based organizations utilized the space.
