Housing Affordability Research Committee
(9/1/2000-11/30/2002)
The committee was comprised of community-based organization leaders, citywide agency representatives, and university researchers. It built an independent, rigorous research database to inform public policy in the area of housing for extremely low-income families in the Chicago area. This was a joint project of CURL and the Roosevelt University Institute for Metropolitan Affairs and was funded by the Woods Fund of Chicago.
A series of “state of housing” papers were developed by various members of the committee. An analysis of the impact of the CHA’s transformation plan was also published.
