CURL partnered with the Loyola School of Education on a Democracy Schools grant from the McCormick Foundation. The intent of the grant was to support the advancement of civic education in public high schools by addressing race equity issues. This collaborative venture, the Equity Cohort Initiative, partnered with five public high schools (Senn, Curie, Grayslake Community, Hinsdale South, and Glenbard South) in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Housing Opportunities for Women
This project is an evaluation of an expandable and replicable private/public partnership pilot project to maximize health care coordination for pregnant and parenting mothers residing in supportive housing, a population that has experienced the complex health impact of homelessness. This is in collaboration among Housing Opportunities for Women (HOW), the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Loyola University's Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL).

Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW), Voices for Illinois Children, and Loyola University Chicago's Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) have released a new report on the impact of Illinois' two-year budget impasse and, more specifically, its impact on women and children. The report, entitled Damage Done: The Impact of the Illinois Budget Stalemate on Women and Children, was a joint project of the three groups.

The Rockford Metropolitan Agency for Planning (RMAP), along with the Center for Criminal Justice Research, Practice and Policy and the Center for Urban Research and Learning at Loyola University Chicago collaborated on a project focused on crime and policing in Rockford, IL. The purpose of the project was to analyze the crime that occurs in Rockford and assess community perceptions of crime and the police to make recommendations about how to improve community-police relations and reduce violent crime in Rockford.
