Mapping Human Relations Assets for the City of Evanston
(January 2012 – Fall 2013)
The City of Evanston Human Relations Commission and CURL collected information on a broad range of organizations in Evanston that contribute to the quality of life and connections among all Evanston residents. Expected outcomes include an up-to-date listing of organizations and services ranging from youth and senior citizen services to religious congregations and food security.
Part of the process was developing a searchable web-based map as part of the City of Evanston’s website. It also involved innovative uses of new GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technologies including photographs, videos, and audio to provide more information on the activities of Evanston residents.
