Home Health Agency Workforce Development
(01/01/2008 – 05/31/2009)
The objectives of Roseland Christian Health Ministries was to create 70 new jobs for low income residents of Cook County, Illinois while serving the heath care needs of seniors living on the south side of Chicago and its adjacent south suburbs through the development of a Home Health Agency to complement RCHM's existing Christian Community Health Center. CURL helped evaluate the project.
Jobs to be created included Home Care Aides, Schedulers, Receptionists, Custodial and Marketing positions. The cost per job was $10,000. This new business met a critical health care need in the community. Many senior citizens in need of home care were unaware of the services available to them through Medicare or were unable to find a faith based Home Health Agency to meet their particular needs.
